An episodic documentary about lives lost and those left behind, offering an eye-opening exposé of the mental health epidemic plaguing modern-day Japan.

After surviving years of depression and several attempts at taking his own life, a young man embarks on a seemingly-impossible quest to walk 4,800 kilometers across Japan carrying a satchel of shoes from seven suicide victims whom he’s never met.

Along the way, the young man and his brother will meet with Japanese families and celebrities and ask for their blessings as he carries the shoes of their loved ones from Cape Soya, Hokkaido to Cape Sata, Kagoshima, then back north to the base of Mount Fuji, Aokigahara Forest – the final resting place of thousands of Japanese souls who have lost their lives to suicide.
