After surviving years of depression and several attempts at taking his own life, a young man embarks on a seemingly-impossible quest to walk 4,800 kilometers across Japan carrying a satchel of shoes from seven suicide victims whom he’s never met.
何年にもわたるうつ病と幾つもの自殺未遂を乗り越えた男性は、会ったことのない7人の自殺犠牲者の靴を抱えて、日本を4,800キロ歩くという一見不可能な探求に乗り出す。
Along the way, the young man and his brother will meet with Japanese families and celebrities and ask for their blessings as he carries the shoes of their loved ones from Cape Soya, Hokkaido to Cape Sata, Kagoshima, then back north to the base of Mount Fuji, Aokigahara Forest – the final resting place of thousands of Japanese souls who have lost their lives to suicide.
旅の途中、若者と弟は日本の家族や著名人の話を聞き、彼らの祝福の元、愛する人の靴を北海道の宗谷岬から鹿児島の佐多岬まで運ぶ。最終目的地である青木ヶ原の森を目指し、自殺で命を落とした何千人もの日本人の魂が眠る聖地へ向かう。
